Job Description -
We are looking for an experienced dog trainer/handler in the Moreland area to join our team at Puddles & Pippin.

The role will require you to work autonomously for around 7 hours a day (schedule dependant) from Monday - Friday. You will also be required to work the occasional weekend or public holiday.

Due to the nature of the work (call outs, last minute bookings, etc) and due to the continuous COVID19 outbreaks & potential ongoing government restrictions, we require the applicant to be currently residing in the Moreland area.

In this role you will be required to complete a number of duties throughout each day around the Moreland, Darebin and Moonee Valley suburbs (travelling beyond these areas on 'Adventure Days'). The duties vary from dog training, dog walking, animal handling, feeding, transportation, administration and accounting, so if you are puppy obsessed and have managerial experience then this is the job for you!

Job Role -
*Conduct one on one 'Walk & Train' Sessions
*Conduct obedience training classes
*Conduct socialisation and exposure training classes
*Write training plans for clients
*Conduct 'Adventure Days' with 4 - 8 dogs per group
*Conduct 'Local Group Walks' with 4 - 8 dogs per group
*Basic dog grooming (bathing, brushing, nail clipping)
*Pet transportation
*Overnight boarding/pet sitting
*Administration (contacting clients, planning days, etc)
*Accounting (sending invoices, book keeping, etc)
*Appropriate handling of animals at all times

Experience and qualifications -
Our dog training is offered by certified trainers only so the successful candidate will need be fully qualified and well experienced. A minimum of a Cert III in Dog Training & Behaviour is required (equivalent qualification will be considered but applicant MUST be a certified dog trainer), plus a minimum of 2 years work experience within the field.

The successful application will also need to have experience in a managerial position or running a business as they will often be required to carry out office duties such as invoicing, book keeping, payroll, record keeping & social media updates.

Prerequisite Summary (ALL requirements must be met before applying)
*Must be able to work autonomously
*Must be currently residing in the Moreland area
*Minimum Cert III in Dog Training & Behaviour (Equivalent qualification will be considered but applicant MUST be a certified dog trainer)
*Minimum 2 years work experience in the field
*Minimum 1 year managerial experience
*Must have previous experience with invoicing, payroll & accounting
*Own vehicle (caddy or van) suitable for pet transportation (not a car)
*Valid work visa with no work limitations
*Must provide valid police check if interviewed
