About The Position

As a Marketing Representative, you will begin your development in a Marketing Training Class where you will learn the fundamentals to succeed in your career at Caterpillar.

Following the training class, you will enter rotational assignments tailored to an industry career path aligned to your strengths and interests.

These Assignments Will Be Focused On

  • Developing industry and product application knowledge as well as a strong understanding of the Caterpillar Dealer network.
  • Building on your skill sets within a specific industry and to help prepare you for future positions within the organisation.

Once completing the training class and rotations (approx. 18-24 months) you will take an exciting career path to a field-based role in either construction machine sales or in the aftermarket solution business.

You will be dealer facing representative where you will analyse sales opportunities, review pricing practices, assist with new product information releases, and develop competitive analysis for the assigned industry. You will also be involved with the development and execution of sales strategies to grow market share and increase awareness.

While the primary position is based in Tullamarine, candidates will be considered for multiple positions located throughout Australia and have the expectation to rotate throughout the country and internationally (when Covid-19 restrictions allows) in order to gain additional experience.

Required Skill And Experience
  • Strong communication, collaboration and leadership skills
  • A Bachelor’s degree in an accredited Marketing or Engineering field
  • Previous work experience in marketing development, sales or product support.
  • Be able relocate temporally during Marketing Training Class both internationally and domestically if required
  • Must be willing to travel extensively (50-70%) as well as relocate based upon business needs following Marketing training class.

Desired Qualifications
  • Previous technical internship or entry-level marketing experience.
  • Experience in construction and infrastructure related fields / automotive would be an advantage
  • Demonstrated technical and non-technical aptitudes.
  • A true passion to learn about the following areas:
  • Construction Equipment
  • Mining Equipment
  • Diesel Engines
  • Natural Gas Engines
  • On-Highway Trucks
