QC Technician is responsible for inspecting and testing the raw materials and products to make sure they meet the required levels of quality. The QC technician needs to be detail-oriented, willing to keep excellent records and have good communication skills.

Objectives of this Role

  • Responsible for monitoring critical control points (CCP).
  • Responsible for monitoring and product food safety and quality throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Responsible for performing sanitation verification and allergen testing on equipment and other areas required.
  • Responsible for the correct recording and filing of all relevant record logs and Documentation.
  • Ensures the correct recipe guidelines for products are met during processing.
  • Ensures employees are following all Food Safety and worker safety practices.
  • Encourage and enforce cleanliness on the part of the staff and ensure safe working conditions
  • Focus on corrective actions in order to make sure that products meet required specifications
  • Ensure measuring equipment are functioning properly and calling for repairs where equipment are faulty
  • Approve finished products for onward shipment to the market
  • Ensure that no expired raw material is used for production
  • Monitor every stage of production to avoid product defects
  • Collect product samples for Product Development, lab retains and the laboratory when directed.
  • Perform inspections on Products, Equipment and Machinery.

  • Organoleptic testing
  • Quality records verification, storage and archiving.
  • Datalogger monitoring and verification
  • Internal Calibration - Scales
  • Internal Calibration - Thermometers
  • Cool-room gauge calibration
  • Internal Listeria swabs
  • Sample collection for external Micro testing
  • SWAB collection for external Allergen testing
  • Training files updates
  • Daily and Fortnightly GMP audit
  • Glass and brittle material inspection
  • A spot check of baits
  • Sample collection Process water micro testing
  • Execute and oversee inspection and testing of the incoming and outgoing product to confirm quality conformance to specifications


  • Higher education, diploma or bachelor degree in Food Science or equivalent
  • Strong understanding of QA processes in the food industry
  • Self-motivated with proven leadership skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Prior experience in a food environment is a plus
  • Must be able to work in a team environment.
  • Must have a positive "Can do" attitude.
  • Must have good written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, effectively under pressure, and deadline-oriented environment.
