Are you a Safety & Wellbeing Specialist, who has also had Safety Management System experience?

Banyule is looking for an experienced Safety and Wellbeing Advisor, with Safety Management experience, to join the People and Culture, Safety & Wellbeing team on a 12mth full-time contract.

About The Role

Reporting to the Safety & Wellbeing Team Leader you will identify innovative solutions and continuous improvement to Safety & Wellbeing, and deliver a new Safety Management System to ensure Council meets its OH&S obligations and objectives. Including

  • Safety & Wellbeing – Safety & Wellbeing initiatives
  • Safety Framework - Develop and implement a new Safety Management System
  • Support Injury Management including WorkCover and return to work plans
  • Compliance - Implement strategies to manage Council’s compliance with all applicable Legislation, Regulations and Codes of Practice
  • Incident & Injury investigation
  • Support the People & Culture Strategy
  • Contractor Management - Assist in education regarding a sustainable contractor management system
  • This role may be contacted outside normal business hours in order to assist other Council staff responding to emergencies


What We Are Looking For
  • Diploma in OHS or WHS
  • Experience in development & implementation of safety management systems
  • Ability to influence and negotiate
  • Experience in the delivery of Safety technical advice
  • Ability to set timeframes and achieve goals
  • Experience in developing and implementing Safety and Wellbeing initiatives that promote an effective Safety culture
  • Ability to undertake Incident Investigations

We can offer
  • Salary range $96,444.07 to $107,598.98 plus super (Monthly RDO)
  • Contract Role, Full time plus RDO, April 2021 to April 2022 (12mth Contract)
