Hume City Council is committed to fostering socially connected and supported communities through the provision of accessible, inclusive and affordable Community Centres.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Community Centre Leader to manage the day to day operations of the Newbury Child and Community Centre and Aitken Hill Community Centre in Craigieburn.

The successful candidate will:

  • Provide leadership and support to Centre staff and volunteers
  • Promote and market the Centres to service providers and community groups to ensure the maximum utilisation of Centre spaces and to facilitate the development of relevant services and programs in accordance with local community need
  • Develop good governance mechanisms and structures and effective relationships with Centre users and tenants
  • Facilitate the engagement and participation of the local community in the planning, development and implementation of Centre programs and activities
  • The successful candidate will be required to have demonstrated knowledge and experience in the management and operation of a community facility and understanding and commitment to community development practice and principles. Relevant qualifications in Social Sciences, Community Development and/or considerable experience in the community sector are also required
