Alongside this, we are a provider of supports to the disability community in Australia with particular focus on Melbourne and Darwin.

THE OPPORTUNITY

The Support Worker (Level 2) will assist people to live independently in their choice of accommodation and to provide tailored support and care. The position requires working across a broad range of key stakeholders including clients, families, allied health practitioners and external companies and governing bodies (e.g. NDIA).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build and maintain trusting and meaningful relationships with people we support, their circle of support and the community.
  • Ensure policies, procedures and documentation requirements are followed to enhance smooth service delivery and compliance with relevant authorities
  • Assist in implementing Positive Behaviour Support plans and behavioural strategies with the support team for the benefit of clients
  • Provide direct support to clients to achieve their goals.
  • Facilitate community inclusion and participation, and support people to establish and maintain effective relationships and interests through access to community activities and services.
  • Encourage positive and socially appropriate behaviour, and effectively manage challenging behaviours.
  • Provide personal care where required and personalised support in accordance with the individual's plan.

ABOUT YOU

We are a movement, and this is a career, not just a job. If you meet the below criteria, we would love to speak with you:

  • 2+ years’ experience in supporting young people and adults with complex behaviours
  • Certificate 4 in Disability or a related discipline (minimum requirement)
  • Passion for working with and supporting people with disabilities to achieve their goals
  • Ability to work flexible hours and adaptable to change
  • Understanding and committed to a person-centric model of practice
  • Must have manual handling capabilities
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
  • Current Driver’s Licence and own reliable transport
  • WWC
  • Police Check
