This is a fantastic opportunity for a strategic, outcome driven and customer focused Materials Supply Manager to join our Supply chain team in Melbourne, to help execute and coordinate activities in alignment with the operational and planning objectives of divisions across the Visy Group.

The Role:

Reporting to the Group Inventory Manager, you will be responsible for the coordination and management of materials that involve complex supply chain movements, higher level planning or detailed coordination; including bulk shipment into the Visy Glass business and specialty imported materials into other divisions.

This is a key decision making position that works closely with stakeholders across functions and divisions, as well as external suppliers and partnering parties, with a view to improve the flow of materials, including materials holding policies.

Further to the above, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Building long range demand forecasts for key raw materials into the Australian and New Zealand operations of the Visy Glass manufacturing business.
  • Execution and end-to-end management of order plan for materials that require bulk movement those of strategic imported materials incorporating complex supply chains or planning processes across divisions.
  • Forecasting and supply planning of returnable packaging materials across the Visy Glass network
  • Management and control of any additional costs away from contracted rates including demurrage.
  • Development of measures and standards to improve transparency, agility and service levels to all customers and stakeholders with an eye on delivering the most efficient, practical and cost effective outcomes for the business.
  • Collaboration with the broader business on key strategic initiatives and forward objectives as required and directed.

What you will bring to the team:

  • Tertiary qualification in a business/commerce/supply chain discipline is advantageous.
  • Previous experience in similar role within a manufacturing/processing industry, with exposure to domestic and international supply chains.
  • You enjoy being hands-on, thrive under pressure, and work to find solutions to the day-to-day challenges, whilst ensuring safety and customer service is never compromised.
  • You possess a continuous improvement mindset with demonstrated history of improving internal systems.
  • Your strong communication and analytical skills, ability to build strategic relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels, will be crucial to the success of his role.
  • SAP experience is highly regarded.
