Brand Manager

Koko Black is a contemporary Australian chocolate company experiencing strong growth across all of its sales channels. Reporting to the Head of Marketing this role is responsible for development and execution of the Koko Black Seasonal campaigns.

This role is integral in driving brand growth and awareness in the marketplace through the successful development of our Seasonal product portfolio, and imaginative marketing campaigns that establish Koko Black as the go to gifting brand at Easter and Christmas.

They will lead the Product and NPD agenda for seasonal campaigns to deliver an innovative, profitable and customer led seasonal portfolio as well as lead to the Campaign Creative development and execution across all consumer touchpoints. They will work closely with the Head of Marketing, Marketing Manager, ecomm & Digital Manager, Product Development team, production, Sales as well as Design, VM, and Operations teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Seasonal Campaign Development and Creative Execution

  • Creating exciting and genuinely innovative Easter and Christmas marketing campaigns that deliver on our objective to driving brand growth, increase brand awareness, attract new customers and build customer loyalty.
  • Implementing Seasonal Brand Activations, working with all key stakeholders to deliver fully integrated multi-channel campaigns.
  • Working collaboratively with eCommerce & Digital Marketing Manager to identify and implement outstanding digital marketing initiatives, including content, social media and online advertising, edM schedule and website execution
  • Working with Creative and PR agencies to deliver impactful campaign creative ideas that come to life seamlessly across consumer touchpoints.
  • Working with Sales Channel Leads to develop channel activation plans and sales tools.
  • Working with CWS and Design teams to develop exceptional Seasonal Sales Catalogues to kickoff pre-selling season

Product and NPD Management

  • Lead for all Seasonal product development projects (new and existing), manage critical paths and delivery within NPD stage gate process and timings.
  • Proactively manage the packaging tracker and key stakeholder to ensure all packaging components are completed/delivered by required deadlines.
  • Co-ordinate production of product as required for photo shoots and corporate wholesale sell in.

In Store Experience & Visual Merchandising

  • Work collaboratively with the VM Manager & Design team to continually push the boundaries to deliver innovative and eye catching seasonal VM displays and in store experiences.
  • Own Local Area Marketing initiatives across stores to optimize visibility of store across key seasonal periods.

Category and Portfolio Management

  • Deliver post launch activity reviews for all key activity to drive more robust understanding of drivers of success (or failure) and drive better decision making.

Brand Campaign / Activation Support

  • Own Local Area Marketing Planning & Toolkit, working collaboratively with stores to optimize visibility of store and initiatives including New Store opening activity
  • Lead Asian Marketing Strategy to optimize our awareness and engagement with Asian Australian community, students, and tourists via relevant channels (WE Chat, Alipay etc)
  • Provide Brand activation support to Brand team and admin support for Marketing team as needed.

P&L Commercial Management

  • Understanding P&L drivers to positively impact revenue and profit delivery and ensuring seasonal products meet profitability requirements.
  • S&OP / Forecasting – working closely with demand and sales team to ensure rigorous seasonal forecast assumptions based on previous data and analysis.

Leadership and Stakeholder Management:

  • Establishing strong working relationships with key internal stakeholders and external agency partners

Required skills and experience:

  • 5-10 years of experiencein retail or FMCG industry including project management, product development and brand marketing experience.
  • Exceptional Project Management experience, demonstrating high level of capability in managing multiple priorities and managing multiple stakeholders.
  • Proven experience with multi-channel planning and execution, ideally familiar with Asian Marketing channels.

The ideal candidate will be process driven, have the ability to set and maintain high standards, be able to deliver consistently to deadlines and enjoy working in a fast paced environment.

They will have proficient understanding of digital marketing channels including Paid Media and Social Media. Additionally the person in this role must have excellent communication skills, with proven ability to build positive relationships with stakeholders and demonstrating strong influencing and negotiation skills.
