Fleetwood Building Solutions (FBS) is part of the ASX listed Fleetwood Australia group of companies. Working in the education, government, housing, mining, custodial and commercial sectors, we are the market leader throughout Australia in the design, manufacture, supply and installation of modular buildings. We have operations in Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia and Western Australia.

FBS is on an exciting growth journey and we now require a talented HSEQ Advisor to work out of our Thomastown manufacturing facility.

About the role:

Based at our Thomastown manufacturing facility, the role of HSEQ Advisor will Report to the National WHSE Manager, your primary function in this position will be to promote, support and drive the safety culture of Fleetwood. Working across our manufacturing facility and also a number of site-based projects. We are seeking a passionate, driven, well organised individual to step into our HSEQ team and become a significant contributor as Fleetwood building solutions continues it's strong growth journey.

Your key responsibilities of the role are:
  • Develop and format high quality documents, presentation material, training material, and internal and external reports for stakeholders.
  • Interpret, advise and apply OHS legislation, Code of practices and relevant Australian Standards to all Fleetwood activities.
  • Participate in the development and review of OHS strategies, policies and procedures that support Fleetwood’s OHSEQ objectives.
  • Ensure effective use of MYOSH and other internal systems
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant Federal and State Occupational Health and Safety Legislation and Australian Standards.
  • Recognise when established policy, procedures and processes are no longer appropriate to new and changing situations and to make recommendations to the HSEQ Manager for changes to address the ongoing needs of the organisation.
  • Conduct risk assessments for all relevant Fleetwood operations.
  • Develop SWMS, SOP compliance and review chemical risk assessments.
  • Assist the HSEQ Manager and Compliance Manager to Implement and maintain the WHSE System Audit Program.
  • Conduct worksite inspection and audits on Fleetwood workplaces and construction sites.
  • Assess Contractor Safety Plans and actively monitor contractor safety performance.
  • Develop, maintain and review the actions raised from Inspections, Risk Assessments, Incident investigations and Audits in MyOSH.
  • Participate in incident reports and investigations and make recommendations on corrective action as required.
  • Maintain the incident database, analyse data and discuss outcomes to Fleetwood.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships across all business departments and regions.
  • Act as an effective and innovative employee and demonstrate a commitment to quality services and teamwork.

Skills and Experience:
  • Strong generalist Work Health & Safety experience and the ability to provide advice to the Fleetwood Managers and employees.
  • A thorough working knowledge of OHS and industry best practice, and Work Health & Safety Management Systems ISO 45001, Quality Management Systems ISO 9001, Environmental Management Systems ISO 14001
  • working knowledge of Heavy Vehicle National Law and Regulations (desirable).
  • Experienced in the writing/development of risk assessments (including chemical risk assessments), SWMS and SOPs
  • Ability to draft and review health & safety documentation, and to monitor/review Fleetwood practices for compliance with both policies/procedures/guidelines and statutory requirements.
  • Comprehensive understanding of PPE requirements and compliance in working environment.
  • Strong decision-making skills and an ability to make formal recommendations.
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate effectively, to influence and to implement change.
  • Skilled to investigate, research and analyse information to create policy and/or procedures.
  • Able to work with minimum supervision to manage and coordinate own timetable, set priorities and achieve objectives whilst willing to work in a team environment.
  • A highly developed sense of personal judgment to undertake this sensitive and specialized work.
  • Sound statistical, analytical and administrative skills.
  • Highly developed problem-solving skills.
  • Accurate record keeping and reporting skills with advanced computer skills.
  • Commitment to innovation in the management of OHS.
  • Commitment to a flexible approach to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Cert IV Training and Assessment (desirable)
