Hume City Council has an exciting opportunity for highly motivated, innovative and experienced communications professional to lead our internal communications. This is a 13-month maternity leave role.

As Coordinator, Internal Communications you'll quickly establish relationships across the organisation and build a reputation as a trusted advisor for senior leaders. You'll develop an empathetic line-of-sight across the organisation and be a champion for the big picture.

A strong writer with a critical eye for detail, you'll thrive in a complex and fast-moving environment, and stay calm under pressure while juggling multiple projects and tight deadlines. You'll be adept and willing to work with a diverse range of stakeholders, balancing often competing needs with complex policy, process, organisational and political dynamics.

You'll also be a capable people leader, supporting and developing the Internal Communications team.

You'll have a passion for storytelling and continually look for opportunities to craft and deliver a compelling narrative that drives value for the organisation and influences positive change.

A key voice in the Communications, Engagement and Advocacy Division, you'll provide strategic internal communications thought leadership and support to the Chief Executive Officer, Executive Management Team, Managers and support the policy direction of the Council.

You'll form a strong working partnership with the Manager Strategic Communications to manage the tactical execution of the Council's annual strategic internal communications plan.

You'll also have the opportunity to help influence and drive the future direction of the Strategic Communications department.

With your flair for engaging those around you, you will create innovative ways to involve, inform and facilitate opportunities for all employees that will add value to decision-making and organisational culture.
