Job Overview

We have an opportunity available for an early morning Supervisor working at La Trobe University - Bundoora Campus. Please note that the shift for this role is 03:00 - 11:06 from Monday to Friday, you will therefore need to be able to travel to work without using public transport. This is a Grade 2 Supervisor role and will also receive a Leading Hand 2 Allowance ($62.14 per week).

Job Description

The Supervisor role is responsible for ensuring the team perform their tasks efficiently, safely and that all duties stated on the specification are carried out with minimal to no interruption to the client and in a manner which does not endanger employees, clients or the general public. The role is also required to complete any cleaning duties required, provide assistance to the Manager as required along with ensuring equipment is maintained and in good working order and that all orders / deliveries (i.e. chemicals, consumables etc.) are completed in a timely manner.

To be considered for this role it is essential that you can demonstrate:

  • Experience in cleaning service operations, contract and team management.
  • Strong supervisory and customer service skills, with experience of working with and resolving issues for employees and clients at all levels within the business.
  • You are a team player, with ability to adapt and change in a growing business environment, and support others to achieve individual and business targets.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills along with good computer skills in Microsoft Office suite and experience working with online document management and auditing systems.
  • Sound understanding and knowledge of safe working processes and practices.

Supervisor Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the onsite team, including the recruitment and deployment of new team members.
  • Support the Manager in completing rosters to ensure delivery of contractual requirements.
  • Ensure all people processes are followed and adhered to throughout the team, including the provision of constructive feedback to team members on a regular basis.
  • Complete site inductions for new employees, organise and lead toolbox meetings and complete safe work method statement training, as required.
  • Liaise with key stakeholders and clients in relation to the agreed cleaning, servicing and functioning of the site.
  • Complete cleaning quality inspections and site inspection reports as required and set out in the site inspection schedule.
  • Work according to set budgetary constraints, ensuring stock at site is regularly checked and orders for consumables, chemicals, materials etc. are ordered on time.
  • Ensure equipment and machinery are well maintained and regularly checked, making certain any repairs or replacements are prioritised. Including the completion and documentation of pre-start machinery and equipment checks.
  • Ensure safe work practices are followed within the business, including ensuring test and tag register in up to date, cleaners rooms are regularly checked and maintained.
  • Responsible for ensuring all accidents and incidents are reported, investigated and actions (including training) are completed and closed out within agreed timescales.
  • Identify issues and provide solutions, ensuring actions are completed in accordance with agreed timelines.
