Donnybrook District High School (DHS) is seeking to appoint a dedicated and committed Teacher Librarian. This role involves managing a shared facility on behalf of Donnybrook DHS and the Donnybrook Balingup Shire. It is a unique position that requires strong leadership and an ability to oversee a complex agreement between the school and the shire. To achieve this, we require a Librarian Teacher who will have the capacity to develop a strong connection with the community and work with the school leadership team and shire staff to fulfil the agreement and bring about positive outcomes for all stakeholders.

The successful applicant will possess exceptional organisational and communication skills and have the ability to be flexible and responsive to the varying needs. Library software and management skills experience would be considered highly desirable. In addition, applicants need to be able to demonstrate a high level interpersonal skills, integrity and professional conduct in order to build and maintain relationships within the school and the broader community.

The Teacher Librarian has a small teaching role where they are required to support the Year 7 to Year 10 students, in Literacy and Numeracy programs being delivered by our specialist teachers.

Donnybrook DHS currently caters for approximately 420 students across two campuses. The successful applicant will be largely based at the Senior Campus, but will be expected to work collaboratively with the Upper Primary teachers at the Junior Campus to support the students transition to Secondary school and continuity of learning.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

  • Professional practice; and
  • Professional engagement.
