JOB DESCRIPTION

ABOUT THE ROLE: Mercy Mental Health, a provider of Public Adult Mental Health services for the southwest metropolitan area in Melbourne, is seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist to join their Perinatal Mental Health services at the Mercy Hospital for Women in Heidelberg.

SUMMARY OF THE ROLE:

  • Work at Mercy Hospital for Women in Heidelberg in the Perinatal Mental Health service.
  • Part Time, 10.5 hours/week on Tuesdays (1-6.15pm) and Thursdays (12-5.15pm) Fixed Term 1 year (to be extended by mutual agreement) 
  • You will provide quality client-focused care to patients, their family and carers, using a holistic approach in the Transitions clinic, an antenatal clinic for women living with addictions and the STAR clinic, an antenatal clinic for women who have had previous pregnancy loss.
  • You will participate in teaching of medical students, supervision of registrars in training and will work on the after hours on-call roster.
  • Be part of a multi-disciplinary team which requires you to provide highly responsive and flexible service to consumers and carers

ABOUT YOU

  • Fellowship of the Royal Australian and new Zealand College of Psychiatrists or equivalent
  • Specialist registration with the Australiam Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Prior experience working in Perinatal Mental Health. Additional experience working with trauma and qualifications in Women's health highly desirable.
  • You will be enthusiastic, motivated, an excellent communicator and be comfortable working in a Recovery Orientated framework
