The Opportunity:

This is an incredible opportunity to join a global business in the capacity of Regional Human Resources Manager. This is a newly created role and will be responsible for providing leadership, oversight and direction for all aspects of HR operations for our Southern region. Our Southern region comprises of Victoria, South Australia & Tasmania. Majority of the work will come from Victoria.

Reporting to our GM HR, and working closely with the local Regional General Manager you will be delivering on both the development, and implementation of strategic HR programs and policies, as well as hands on, day-to-day operational management and to support company wide initiatives and projects as required.

Your role and responsibilities will include

  • Incorporating Komatsu’s strategies, vision, and values into regional operations through ongoing engagement with regional managers
  • Support and guide the regional managers to deliver on HR strategy and operational requirements such as; performance management and development, organisation design, , recruitment, inclusion and diversity and engagement
  • Manage the IR/ER matters for the region, including coordinating the negotiation of a number of EAs and front line IR/ER advise and support
  • Provide advice, challenge thinking, and facilitate problem solving and decision-making for the HR and Leadership team and to grow employee engagement
  • Work with Regional GM & Leaders to develop and implement the people plan, interventions and priorities for the area along with supporting ongoing growth in leadership development
  • Provide hands on HR support, including management of investigations and grievances, people matters, labour planning, change management and coaching of line managers and HR team

Our ideal candidate will possess the following

  • A background in HR leadership roles ideally from within the construction, mining or like industry.
  • Experience across HR fundamentals and employee lifecycle including; planning, recruitment, engagement, inclusion and diversity, compensation/benefits administration, and employee performance management.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience working with labour and employment legislation, managing and negotiating Enterprise Agreements and undertaking workplace investigations
  • Leadership capability demonstrated through your ability to coach and mentor, ensure teams are supported, build capability and achieve great results together
  • The ability to balance business and individual needs to create commercial outcomes for all
  • A genuine desire to see growth and development and to create opportunities to expand those around them
