Amiga Montessori provides education and care for children aged one to six in purpose designed premises. Children in a Montessori classroom learn by making discoveries with open ended materials, hereby promoting concentration, motivation, self-discipline, independence and a love of learning!

We are looking for a passionate full time Early Childhood Teacher to join our teams in our Reservoir, Greenvale and Craigieburn Centres. If you would like career growth then this is the opportunity for you.

The objective of the Kindergarten Teacher is to:

  • Plan and implement an age appropriate school readiness and pre-school preparation program that suits the needs of individual children and groups
  • Create stimulating opportunities, experiences and activities for children which will allow them to learn, explore and discover within the framework
  • Work collaboratively with other educators, staff, and parent volunteers to optimise the value of the program
  • Work with the Montessori Mentor to ensure the Kindergarten program is combined with the Montessori Method
  • Room Management and Supervision
  • Administration.

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Bachelor of Early Childhood Education, Bachelor of Education or Master of Teaching
  • A current Victorian Institute of Teaching Registration
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Early Years Learning Frameworks and an understanding of the National Quality Standards
  • Child Safe Environment Certificate
  • Mandatory Child Protection
  • Food Handling Certification (Safe Food Handling)
  • First Aid, Anaphylaxis Certification and C.P.R. Certification
  • A current Police Check

Highly Desirable Attributes:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt communication styles to an audience
  • The ability to define and breakdown problems/situations, defuses, assesses and comes up with solutions.
  • The ability to work in an Innovative and collaborative way.
  • Knowledge in the Montessori Method (highly desirable)
