  • Full-time maximum term position to 17 December 2021
  • Position will be based at Craigieburn, however the successful candidate may need to be able to work remotely on occassion
  • The annual salary of $57,741 + 9.5% super will be prorated

About the role
We are seeking a Work Broker for our Craigieburn location to undertake basic skills assessments for AMES Australia clients to ascertain their current capabilities and skills to determine an appropriate pathway for the client to gain sustainable, ongoing employment. If successful, you will conduct vocational and non-vocational assessments of clients and make referrals to other AMES Australia Employment team members, as appropriate. 

About you
You have exceptional customer service skills with a proven ability to motivate clients, and advocate on their behalf.  You are able to apply your knowledge of the labour market and employment related programs and ability to build rapport and conduct objective assessments of clients' skills and abilities, to help them gain sustainable ongoing employment. Candidates with fluent Arabic or Assyrian language skills who can support clients in their first language, will be given preference.

To be considered for this role, you will be able to demonstrate the following key selection criteria:

  • Demonstrated relevant experience in a related field
  • Experience in a high pressure environment
  • Knowledge of the labour market and employment related programs
  • Proven ability to motivate clients, and advocate on their behalf
  • Ability to build rapport & conduct objective assessment of the clients skills & abilities
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills
  • Proven ability to multitask and prioritise tasks, with an attention to detail
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Strong literacy (both verbal, written and numerical)
  • Ability to use a range of computer applications including Microsoft Office
  • Proficiency in compliance and adherence to policy, procedures and guidelines
  • A current valid Drivers' Licence (highly desirable)
  • A Working with Children Check (Employee) may be required depending on client caseload
