DUTIES

• Position, align, fit and weld parts to form complete units or subunits, following blueprints, drawings and layout specifications to determine the nature of the job, and using jigs, welding torches and hand tools
• Layout and examine metal, stainless steel tube and aluminium tracks, slates stocks or work pieces to be processed to ensure that specifications are met
• Cutting metal stocks, stainless steel tubes, solid rod, aluminium slates and aluminium curtain tracks along guidelines as per job using hand and power shears machine
• Read, interpret, follow and communicate information on written job instructions to determine materials requirements and tasks sequences
• Setting of amperage, voltage and spot of the welding machine
• Trim, file, grind, deburr, buff, lancing, scale up, ducting, polishing, sanding, smooth surfaces and joints of assembled parts using hand tools and portable power tools
• Wash the metal stocks, stainless steel tubes and hardware by chemical (inside the chemical room) by using PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
• Tack weld fitted parts together on steel metal and stainless steel according to the job.
• Cleaning the weld spot by using chemical, grits and scotch brite
• Verify conformance of work pieces to specifications, using squares, rulers and measuring tapes
• Produce sketches, diagrams, charts and graphs on the floor/ board as per measurements by using measuring devices, chalk, soapstone, board marker, protector, measuring tapes and squares then after bend
• Bending stainless steel tube to the size and shape according to measurements
• Bending aluminium curtain tracks (white and anodize) according the drawings and measurements
• Powder coat the grab rails, aluminium slates for the shower seats, curtains tracks, metal, sanitary hardware and components
• Drill and punch holes on metal for screws, bolts and rivets
• Lift and move finished product materials by using pallet jack, trolley and forklift.
• Set up and operate fabricating machines, such as brakes, rolls, shears, flame cutters, grinders and drill presses to bend, cut, form, punch, drill or otherwise form and assemble metal components
• Smooth work piece edges and fix tapes, tubes, aluminium and valves
• Remove the high spots and cut bevels using hand files, portable grinders and cutting torches
• Position or tighten braces, jacks, clamps, rope or bolt straps, or bolt parts in position for welding, bending, cutting, making shower seats and riveting
• To make shower seats (aluminium, perspex and grey top)
• Repair returned and damaged sheet metal products and components or other as required, assembling the parts together using tools
• Carry out work safely in accordance with company policy and procedures, manufacturer’s recommendations, environmental guidelines and legislative requirements
• Dispatch the finished products as per required and make a checklist to check the all stocks
• Identify actual and foreseeable workplace hazards during course of work
• Implement OHS risk management procedures
• Monitor performance of operation or quality of product or service to ensure customer satisfaction
• Select and use appropriate measuring tools, equipment, materials and machine to achieve the required outcome

REQUIRED SKILLS

Qualification in Metal Fabrication

We are an established food manufacturing business located in Reservoir, which produces fresh pasta, sauces and ready meals for food service & retail customers. We are looking for an experienced Food Production Supervisor to join our small team of 6 to assist the Production Manager with day-to-day food production operations.

What we are looking for:
This is a hands-on role, working in a supervisory capacity in our production area. You’ll be cooking sauces, lasagnas & ready meals and learn all aspects of our production including fresh pasta making, producing filled pasta, cannelloni & gnocchi, making handmade pasta and operating packaging machines.

This is a full-time role Monday to Friday to start as soon as possible. Daily hours are generally 6:30am to 3:00pm, however overtime is often required so flexibility is a must. Initial training will take place at Carlton North, however the role will move to Reservoir in April. Plenty of free parking is available at both sites.
